Your Data Rights
What we hold about you, why we hold it, and how to take control of it.
Core disclosure
- Broker Battles is an independent entertainment, marketing and community-backing platform.
- Tournament results represent money backed by the community and are not financial advice, regulatory assessments or endorsements.
- Paid broker bids affect tournament qualification only.
- Backing is a payment that directly decides battle results; it is not an investment, a wager or a financial product, and it is non-refundable.
- Prize pots are funded from broker entry money and are awarded to backers of the winning side as prizes only, with no cash alternative and no cash payouts.
- Users should conduct their own due diligence before using financial services.
What we collect
Account data: email address and sign-in details. Activity data: the battles you backed, the amounts, and the time. Broker entry data for brokers: company name, website, jurisdictions, contact name and business email. Payment data: handled by our payment provider — we store only the record that a payment succeeded, never card numbers. Technical data: IP address and basic device information, used for security and fraud prevention.
Why we use it
To run your account and tournament entries (performance of a contract), to publish battle totals and leaderboards (performance of a contract), to award and deliver prizes (performance of a contract and legal obligation), to prevent fraud and abuse (legitimate interests), to keep financial records (legal obligation), and for optional analytics (only with your consent).
What is public
Battle totals, backer counts and leaderboard positions are public. Backers appear only as an anonymous short label — we never publish your email address, your name or your individual payment history. Approved broker entries publish business information only, never a personal contact name or email address.
How long we keep it
Account and activity data for as long as your account is open, then up to 12 months after closure for fraud prevention. Payment and prize records for 7 years, as required for tax and accounting. Technical logs for up to 12 months. Analytics data for up to 14 months.
Your rights
You may ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent for analytics at any time from the cookie settings link in the footer. Deleting your account does not remove the anonymous amounts already counted in published battle totals, because those results are final.
How to make a request
Email our data protection address from the address on your account. We respond within 30 days, free of charge. If you are unhappy with our response you may complain to your national data protection authority, or to the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus.
Who we share data with
Our hosting and database provider, our payment provider, our email provider, and prize suppliers where a prize must be delivered — each only to the extent needed. We never sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising profiling.
